Hebrews 1:8-9
Hebrews 1:8-9 But unto the Son, he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God , hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." (Authorized King james Bible, AV).
This scripture many have difficulty understanding, but if one backs up and carefully reads what comes before it, Hebrews 1:5-7, ""For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire." (AV); these show clearly that Jesus (Yeshua) is the only begotten Son of God (YHWH). If we look up the root word of begotten, beget, the dictionary definition of "begetting," that is "to procreate as the father," [Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary]. now when we look into what beget or begotten means in the Webster's New world College Dictionary, Fourth Ed., says, "1, to be the father or sire of; procreate, 2, to bring into being; produce ["Webster's New World College Dictionary, 4 ed.", Michael Agnes, Editor in Chief, ISBN 0-02-863118-8]; we can be see from the definition of the word, that the scriptures clearly show that Jesus (Yeshua) did NOT always exist, but was brought into being or created by his Father (YHWH). This is further at Psalm 2:7, "I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, 'Thou art My Son, Today I have begotten Thee.'" (New American Standard Bible - Reference Edition by Moody Press, Chicago, a div. Of Moody Bible Institute; NASB-MP).
And at Matthew 28:18, Jesus (Yeshua) clearly says, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." (AV), and we know when there is a receiver of something, there is also a giver. In this case, the giver was none other than Almighty God (YHWH) as shown at 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, "But as it is, Christ has risen from the dead, the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by a man come death, by a man also comes resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made to live. 23 But each in his own turn, Christ as first-fruits, then they who are Christ's, who have believed, at his coming. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when he does away with all sovereignty, authority and power. 25 For he must reign, until 'he has put all his enemies under his feet.' 26 And the last enemy to be destroyed will be death, for 'he has put all things under his feet.' But when he says 27 all things are subject to him, undoubtedly he is excepted who has subjected all things to him. 28 And when all things are made subject to him, then the Son himself will also be made subject to him who subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all." (Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible). Now as the scripture has plainly shown, Almighty God (YHWH) has not only given his Son, Jesus (Yeshua) some of his power, but subjected all things to him except himself using him as his agent for cleansing the earth. Since he, Jesus (Yeshua) receives all his power and authority from his Father (YHWH), clearly they can NOT BE COEQUAL, but Jesus (Yeshua) is actually acting as his Father's (YHWH's) agent.
This, the giving of power by God (YHWH) to his Son, Jesus (Yeshua) for a period of time was foretold at Genesis 49:10, "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be." (AV); And Psalms 2:9, "Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces lake a potter's vessel." (AV) which relates to Revelation 2:27, "And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father." (AV). Here, once more Jesus (Yeshua) is shown as receiving this power from his Father (YHWH), which is reaffirmed at Revelation 12:5, "And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne." (AV); And also at, Revelation 19:15, "And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." (Av). Clearly he has been given a grand assignment by his Father, Almighty God (YHWH) and the Bible shows he will carry it out.
Therefore, what sort of people should we be? Let's look at 2 Corinthians 7:9-12, "Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. 12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you." (AV). Clearly all who wish to be true footstep followers of Jesus (Yeshua) must repent as affirmed at Acts 26:20, "But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works that meet for repentance." (AV).
