Who Is The Superior One - In Heaven As Revealed by The Bible:
INTRODUCTION AND BODY OF ARTICLE:
Clearly, Jesus (Yeshua) is obedient to his Father (YHWH) a superior one and by being obedient brings honour to his Father (YHWH). Also, in this situation, Jesus (Yeshua) once more is shown to be the receives and his Father the giver. This would be impossible under Trinitarian Theology as it maintains they are one Godhead so either the Bible is wrong or Trinitarian Theology is wrong."
Ephesians 1:2-3, "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ:" (American Standard Version; ASV) clearly draws a distinction between the Father, Almighty God (YHWH), and his only begotten Son, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ. It clearly shows them as two distinct beings and not one. In fact two scriptures clearly show they could NOT possibly be one being or god.
John 5:26, "For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:" (American Standard Version; ASV)
John 6:57, "As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me." (ASV)
By the words of Jesus, Jesus was not eternal; he was given to have life in himself and lives because of the Father. A eternal being cannot be given to have life in themselves, and they do not depend on others to live.
Ephesians 1:17, also clearly makes a distinction showing them as two separate beings, "17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;" (ASV).
Ephesians 1:20, "which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places," (ASV) also clearly makes this distinction by showing that Jesus' (Yeshua's) Father, Almighty God (YHWH), raised him from the dead and he did not raise himself; and, then sat him, Jesus (Yeshua), at his right hand.
Ephesians 1: 22, "and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church," (ASV), then shows that his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), made all things, except himself, subject to him, which goes with 1 Corinthians 15:27-28, "For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him. 28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all." (ASV). Now, note, it clearly says, "All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him." So they are two distinct beings, thus no trinity is possible as it would require them, plus a third one, to be co-equal, co-eternal; whereas, these scriptures clearly show the Father, Almighty God (YHWH), to be the supreme one who gives authority to his only begotten Son, Jesus (Yeshua). Now to better understand this, let's look at the definition of a trinity.
The Trinitarian dogma, The Cyclopoedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature, New York 1871, by John M'Clintock and James Strong, Vol. II, page 560-561, states, "We worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the
persons, nor dividing the substance. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is all one: the glory equal, the majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost.....The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghost eternal...So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Ghost almighty...So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet there are not three Gods, but one God...The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created, but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding...And in this Trinity none is afore or after other; none is greater or less than another. But the whole three persons are coeternal together, and coequal. So that in all things, as is afore said, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity." [this is the Athanasian Creed quoted in the above mentioned Cyclopoedia].
Now consider, Ephesians 2: 4 "but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: 7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus: 8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not of works, that no man should glory. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them." (ASV). Where once more in verse 6 clearly shows that Jesus' (Yeshua's) Father, Almighty God (YHWH), raised him from the dead and was not him.
Now let's reiterate reality in keeping with John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (Authorized King James Bible; AV). To have a trinity of anything, you must have three like things, and no such condition is detailed in the Bible. What is shown in the Bible is as follows:
[1]Father, Almighty God (YHWH), the creator of all that exist who has always existed and is the supreme being or power in the universe. Of him the Bible shows his Son, Jesus (Yeshua), testifying as follows at John 8:54-55, "Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father that glorifieth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God; 55 and ye have not known him: but I know him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be like unto you, a liar: but I know him, and keep his word." (ASV), clearly identifying Almighty God (YHWH), his Father, as the one he received all from. In fact, Jesus (Yeshua) testifies at John 12:49-50, that even the words he, Jesus (Yeshua), speaks were from his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), "For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak." (ASV). And at Matthew 4:9-10, "and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (ASV); here Jesus (Yeshua) clearly testifies that we should ONLY worship the "Lord thy God" and no one else including himself.
And, Psalms 110:1-5, clearly says, "1 Praise ye Jehovah. I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart, In the council of the upright, and in the congregation.[[by David]] 2 The works of Jehovah are great, Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. 3 His work is honor and majesty; And his righteousness endureth for ever. 4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful. 5 He hath given food unto them that fear him: He will ever be mindful of his covenant." (ASV). Which refers back to Matthew 22:41-45, "Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, 42 saying, What think ye of the Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet? 45 If David then calleth him Lord, how is he his son?" (ASV).
In fact, in his prayer in John Chapter 17, Jesus (Yeshua) clearly prays to his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), and asks for at John 17:1-5, "These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee: 2 even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life. 3 And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ. 4 I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." (ASV), clearly showing he, Jesus (Yeshua), was the subordinate one, and that his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), was the superior one; hence, no trinity possible as here we have a superior being prayed to by a subordinate and not a co-equal as would be required by a trinity.
[2]Jesus (Yeshua), the only begotten Son of Almighty God (YHWH),. This Son is the firstborn of creation as shown at Colossians 1:15, "who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;" (ASV). As shown, Jesus (Yeshua), is only the "image of the invisible God," and NOT the invisible God, his Father, Almighty God (YHWH). This is also clearly shown at Revelation 3:14, "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:" (ASV) which shows clearly that Jesus (Yeshua) was "the beginning of the creation of God:" This Son, Jesus (Yeshua), was an obedient Son to his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), as shown by his statement testifying to his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), being greater at John 14:28, "Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I." (ASV); and by 1 Corinthians 11:3, "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (ASV) where he shows that the "head of Christ is God." John 5:19-23, clearly states, "Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel. 21 For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will. 22 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; 23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him." (ASV).
And as Jesus (Yeshua) said at John 20:17, "Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God." (ASV) clearly testifying to Almighty God (YHWH) being both his Father and his God; thereby, once more showing his father as the superior one. And at John 4:23-24, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth." (ASV). Also, Galatians clearly shows that Jesus (Yeshua) was sent by his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), at Galatians 4:4, "but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law," (ASV), so he was clearly a sent and/or subordinate one. And Luke 1:30-35 clearly shows that Jesus (Yeshua) was God's son and not God, "And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God." (ASV). So clearly Jesus (Yeshua) was a subordinate one to his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), who was the superior one and also, he had a beginning as the first of creation; hence no trinity is possible as he, Jesus (Yeshua), is neither co-equal or co-eternal with his Father, Almighty God (YHWH).
[3]Holy Spirit, is not a being but the personal power and/or force of Almighty God (YHWH). Let's look at some facts. Now what is this Spirit or Holy Spirit that John the Baptist mentioned at John 1:32, ""And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost." (AV)? The Holy Spirit is only God's (YHWH's) active force and not even a spirit being or person. This is clearly shown at Pentecost where the Holy Spirit was poured out onto all there, Acts 2:1-4, "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (AV). This entire scripture bespeaks of a force and not a being as you do not get filled with a being! And this fact is reaffirmed at Acts 4:31, ""And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness." (AV); And 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, "Now he which established us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts." (AV), surely a being would not be in our hearts as that is ludicrous, thus this scripture talks of God's (YHWH's) active force; This is clearly shown at Luke 11:13, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (AV). Once more, why? Why? Do many say they are coequal and coeternal when clearly they are not and the Holy Ghost is just God's (YHWH's) active force? Only to try to give some resemblance of reality to a myth as we shall later see. An interesting note on the Spirit is that the neuter Greek word for spirit (pneu'ma) is used, the neuter pronoun "it" is properly employed. This fact is conveniently over looked or hidden by most Trinitarian translators as admitted in the "New American Bible Catholic Bible," regarding John 14:17: "The Greek word for 'Spirit' is neuter, and while we use personal pronouns in English ('he,' 'his,' 'him'), most Greek MSS [manuscripts] employ 'it.'" So when the Bible uses masculine personal pronouns in connection with pa·ra'kle·tos at John 16:7, 8, it is conforming to rules of grammar, not expressing a doctrine. And in Ancient Hebrew the word here rendered Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, or Spirit which is translated from 'ru'ach' meaning "breath; wind; spirit." In Latin, it is spiritus, and in Sanskrit, 'prana' which means both "breath" and "spirit"
So it is clear that the Spirit is not a being but is God's (YHWH's) active force which he gives to both his Son, Jesus (Yeshua) and to his followers that he gave to him. This is made even clearer at 1 Corinthians 12:13, "For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit. And Hebrews 2:4 clearly reveals it as from him, "God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by manifold powers, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will." (ASV); And affirmed at 2 Peter 1:21, "For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit." (ASV). Interestingly many ancient manuscripts with respect part of 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, in part read as follows, "Vulgate, Syriac, and Coptic [all important ancient manuscripts] read, "(the Lord God of the) spirits (of the prophets)." The Lord God who with His Spirit inspired their spirits so as to be able to prophesy. There is but one Spirit, but individual prophets, according to the measure given them " Thus it is obvious that the Spirit or Holy Spirit is God's (YHWH's) active force or power which he 'pours' out to his Son, Jesus (Yeshua) and to the faithful followers as necessary to get his will accomplished.
CONCLUSION:
To clearly comprehend Jesus (Yeshua) position and what the Holy Spirit is one needs really to understand what is called the Biblical Law of Agencies. But let me use an analogy to assist you with respect understanding. On the building of a condominium or any other large building, a contractor may employ many workers to assist him as his workers or agents with respect task at hand, but the contractor is STILL the builder. The same holds true for the true God (YHWH) of Abraham. He employed his only begotten son, Jesus (Yeshua), the first of creation or beginning of creation per Revelation 3:14, "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:" (American Standard Bible; AV) as his assistant or master worker. Proverbs 8:22-31 makes it clear that Jesus (Yeshua) is the true God (YHWH) of Abraham's master worker, "Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth; 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, 28 When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong, 29 When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth; 30 Then I was by him, as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him, 31 Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men." (ASV). So whereas an employee or worker or agent of a contractor becomes neither a co-contractor or co-builder even though he participated in the building process; neither does the fact that Jesus (Yeshua) was used as a master worker by the true God (YHWH) of Abraham in any way make him a co-creator.
Thus, as can be seen, there is no trinity in the Bible, that Jesus (Yeshua) is subordinate to his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), and that the Holy Ghost, is not a spirit being, but the active force and or power of Almighty God (YHWH). That Jesus (Yeshua) is neither co-equal or co-eternal with his Father, one of the requirements to have a trinity; and the "Holy Ghost" is but Almighty God (YHWH) active force and/or power, hence no three equal things required for a trinity. Therefore ones believing in a trinity are actually polytheist and not monotheist in keeping with Exodus 20:1-7, "And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me, 6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." (ASV).
APPENDIX:
[1] The Doctrine of the Trinity: Christianity's Self-Inflicted Wound
by Anthony F. Buzzard and Charles F. Hunting
This important work is a detailed biblical investigation of the relationship of Jesus to the one God of Israel. The authors challenge the notion that biblical monotheism is legitimately represented by a Trinitarian view of God and demonstrate that within the bounds of the canon of Scripture Jesus is confessed as Messiah, Son of God, but not God Himself. Later Christological developments beginning in the second century, and under the influence of pagan Gnosticism, misrepresented the biblical doctrine of God and Christ by altering the terms of the biblical presentation of the Father and the Son. This fateful development laid the foundation of a revised, unscriptural creed which needs to be challenged. This book provides a definitive presentation of a Christology rooted in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. The authors present a sharply-argued appeal for an understanding of God and Jesus in the context of Christianity's original, apostolic, unitary monotheism.
