Language Makes The Difference With Respect To How Easy It Is To Brainwash An Individual:
Strange as it may seem, the individual’s language either makes it easier and/or more difficult to brainwash an individual, and NOT brute force used. As a rule brute force makes it more difficult to brainwash an individual as it causes his/her internal defenses come into play with regard to resistance to being brainwashed.
People invariably think and forum their thoughts in their native languages. The reality is that people tend to make sense out of the world around them in their native language. For example, English is NOT my native language, nor that of any of my family even though most well know English; whereas, some know Urdu and Pashto which are very different from English; hence they tend to make sense out of the world quite different than would an English speaking native.
Take the word ‘honor,’ the words translated in English as ‘honor’ carry quite a different baggage and/or meaning in Urdu and Pashto than the English word ‘honor.’ In fact, if one tries to translate in the reverse direction; to wit, from English into either Urdu and/or Pashto, he/she will fact a great difficulty since these languages lack equivalents for many common place words in English.
What this means in practical terms is that speakers of these languages make sense out of the world around them quite different than would a native English speaking individual, and are, therefore, going to act and think very differently than would a native English speaking individual, and this holds true for native speakers of most middle eastern languages. Since they make sense out of the world around them very differently than would a native English speaker, this difference with regard to native speakers of most middle eastern languages makes many of them significantly more receptive to century old brainwashing techniques by their clergy or religious leaders of various levels. Some of these clergy have more radical agendas than others, and those with a radical agenda of lust for violence, greed, and hate find it rather easy to brainwash their constituents whose native language is one of the middle eastern languages since speakers of same make sense of the world around them quite differently than native English speakers do.
As I mentioned earlier, the words of these languages which are commonly translated in English as ‘honor’ carry far more baggage and/or meaning than the English word, and that is why many speakers of middle eastern languages can be easily radicalized and/or feel they must kill close relatives in order to maintain family ‘honor.’ Of course this is difficult for the native English speaker to comprehend, but that is because he/she forms his/her thoughts and makes sense of the world around him/her is native language, English, which does NOT carry the same baggage and/or thoughts as so called equivalent words in middle eastern languages.
What makes perfect sense to someone whose language is one of the middle eastern languages makes absolutely no sense to a native English speaker. For example, no native English speaker would contemplate while sane becoming a suicide bomber; whereas, a native middle easterner language speaker would much more easily contemplate same, and be easier for his religious leader to brainwash him into becoming either radicalized and/or a suicide bomber.
