RESURRECTION
having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and unjust. [Acts 24:15 – American Standard Bible]
This scripture clearly shows there will be a resurrection, and what can that mean for you?
1) 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 assures us of comfort when love ones die as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; 4 who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” [ASV]
2) Hebrews 2:15, gives freedom from morbid fear of death as follows, “and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” [ASV]
3) John 5:28-29 a hope for reuniting with your dead loved ones as follows, “Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.” [ASV]
Now can we really believe what the Bible says?
1) Almighty God (YHWH) is the Creator of all life as recorded for our benefit at Psalm 36:9, “For with thee is the fountain of life: In thy light shall we see light” [ASV] , and Acts 17:24-25, “The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 neither is he served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;” [ASV]
2) Almighty God (YHWH) has resurrected individuals in the past and can do it again as shown at John 11:39-44, “Jesus saith, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time the body decayeth; for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou believedst, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou heardest me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the multitude that standeth around I said it, that they may believe that thou didst send me. 43 And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 He that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave–clothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.” [ASV]
3) Almighty God (YHWH) wants to do it again as he views death as an enemy of mankind as shown at 1 Corinthians 15:26, “The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.” [ASV] , and John 14:14-15, shows under what conditions he will do it, “If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.
15 If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.” [ASV]
